Understanding Rehabilitation (Rehab) under OWCP

Please note that OWCP takes a very stern position concerning rehabilitation.Please note that OWCP takes a very stern position concerning rehabilitation. OWCP is of the opinion that they are paying compensation equal to eight hours a day in wages. Therefore, they expect you to earn your compensation by participating in rehabilitation program for 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. In short, if you take their money, then they own your time 40 hours a week – just as if you are at your job. Excuses for not being able to participate in rehab (such as : taking children to school, running errands, babysitting for children or grandchildren, lack of daycare) are not acceptable.
